Alba Party under investigation for financial ‘irregularities’

POLICE Scotland is probing “irregularities” in the finances of pro-independence party, Alba.
Officers confirmed a report was made two months after Kenny MacAskill beat Ash Reagan for the party leadership in March.
The party was founded in 2021 by the late Alex Salmond,
inset, as a competitor to the SNP, but it has struggled to make an impact in elections. Mr MacAskill claimed the issues that have come to light “cause us great concern”.
