"Kaffir Boy" and "The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness"

The current administration has made it known that they’re intent on importing farmers from South Africa to the United States (for a fee... mind you), and the first group is due to arrive soon.

Now, the administration’s floating the idea of opening Alcatraz, the old, long-ago shuttered, dilapidated prison, in the middle of San Francisco Bay.

Aside from crushing the spirits of young Black men, these proposed policy changes are another way of questioning the value of our contributions to society, erasing Black history... even the history that’s already owned by Caucasians and making African Americans feel like we aren’t a viable part of the history and future of American society.
