Scouts enjoy residential trip
Rutherglen Reformer
|March 11, 2026
Members of all ages at 113th Burnside Scout group enjoyed a series of winter residential adventures - with the most intrepid even camping outdoors in the snow.
Explorer Scouts aged 14 to 18 took part in Clyde region’s major Sub-Zero camp last month, attended by hundreds of participants and which saw them take part in a range of adventurous activities, a disco and heated pool party.
They pitched their tents on a chilly winter evening and woke up to find the Auchengillan site near Drymen covered with snow the following morning, making for an especially memorable experience as the camp lived up to its wintry name.
Younger members in the Squirrel and Cub groups, respectively for members aged four to five and those aged eight to 10, also enjoyed residentials at the Auchengillan centre with their volunteer leaders, this time sleeping indoors as they took on a similar range of challenges.
