Katherine's progress earns her Rising Star

AS the Primary group players busied themselves ticking off their new Bronze medal criteria at the Sunday morning Rossendale Juniors at The Adrenaline, the coaches surprised one of their older players with the presentation of the Matty Ramsbottom Rising Star shield.

The award, donated by Steve Ramsbottom in memory of his son, Matty, recognises the potential in our young badminton players in Rossendale. This year’s winner, Katherine Chen, a Year 7 pupil at BRGS, was extremely surprised when she heard her name announced and went up to receive the shield from coach, Nigel Holt - dressed as Darth Vader as it was May 4th.
