ORTOA Celebrity Recitals at the Rochdale Town Hall Organ - Beacons of Sound from Greater Manchester's Town of Culture with Edward Taylor, concert organist REVIEW: DR JOE DAWSON
-
ORTOA (Oldham, Rochdale and Tameside Organists' Association est.1908) continues to do a great job promoting the JJ Binns organ in the Great Hall by presenting top celebrity performers on Tuesdays at One for a limited season.
Today's virtuoso, Edward Taylor, graduated from Leeds where he also gained his Associateship of the Royal College of Organists (ARCO) and is currently the assistant organist and director of consort at Carlisle Cathedral.
He also leads a busy freelance career as a concert organist, conductor and accompanist.
As a choral director he specialises in workshops for children, youth choirs, and 'Come and Sing' events for adults.
Edward has appeared on several CDs; and his YouTube channel, which he started during 'lockdown' currently has 275 videos of organ music (@ edwardtaylororganist). Follow him on Facebook and Instagram.
