Cooper and Butterworth shine in three-wicket Rochdale win

ROCHDALE beat Clitheroe by three wickets at Redbrook in the JW Lees Premier League.

The visitors won the toss and elected to bat first, Rochdale restricting them to 139 all out inside 46 overs.

Henry Cooper did most of the damage with the ball, claiming 5-25 off 11 overs with three maidens.

In Rochdale’s reply, Tom Gilbertson and Andy Harrison put on 27 for the first wicket, that of Harrison for 19.

Gilbertson went on to make 36 while Harry Butterworth top-scored with an unbeaten 43 to see the home team to victory.

Champions Burnley continue to struggle for form, they lost out at home to leaders Lowerhouse by 141 runs.

At Walsden, visitors Norden won by two runs.
