BUILDING momentum is proving a source of frustration for Gary Thornton’s Rochdale Hornets who, having recently had a fortnight without a game, now face an unwelcome three-week break.

Break frustration for Hornets

The Hornets coach was pleased with his team's display at Keighley Cougars last time out, where a last-gasp drop kick for the home side provided a heartbreaking finale in a 26-25 defeat.

But it was a performance full of positives for Hornets and one they could have built on - given the opportunity.

However, Thornton’s men must wait until Sunday 6th July before taking on second-placed Midlands Hurricanes at the Alexander Stadium.

“It’s come at a really bad time because I think it’s three weeks before we play again now and that’s after we played like that - we just want to get back on the field and play again,” said Thornton. “The way this league is organised and these fixtures are organised, we can't do that.
