COUNTY AREAS THAT RANK HIGHEST ON NATIONAL LIST

THE country’s best areas to live have been revealed - and parts of Nottinghamshire rank very highly on the list.

Data collected from the Land Registry, Home Office, Department for Education, NHS and the Office for National Statistics show the best areas to live in based on house prices, crime, quality of education, health care and amenities.

Nottingham’s highest-ranking area is Bassetlaw, landing at 24th on the ranking. Containing Worksop, Retford, Tuxford and Harworth Bircotes, the district marks the north end of Nottinghamshire.

Its neighbouring district, Newark and Sherwood, comes 31st. With Sherwood Forest on the residents’ doorsteps, the area is home to the legends of Robin Hood.
