Rajya Sabha member Sant Seechewal announces Rs.50 lakh grant for flood-affected areas

Deeply moved by the devastating floods in Punjab, Rajya Sabha member Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal has announced a grant of Rs.50 lakh from his discretionary funds to support the affected people. Out of this grant, five villages are being provided with boats and drinking water tankers.

A few days ago, in the presence of Punjab Cabinet Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian, Sant Seechewal had also announced the provision of motorboats. Among these, three villages of Kapurthala district— Sangra, Ahli Kalan, and Rampur Gohra—have already been issued grants. Similarly, to overcome the drinking water shortage faced during the floods in the Majha region, water tankers have been given to four villages of Ajnala. So far, more than Rs.43 lakh has already been releas
