Mandi college NCC cadet hoists national flag on Mount BC Roy

NCC cadet Dumesh Kumari of Vallabh Government College, Mandi, has successfully scaled 18,000-ft high Mount BC Roy in Sikkim and hoisted the national flag at its summit. She accomplished this feat during the prestigious Advance Mountaineering Course conducted by the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Darjeeling, from October 21 to November 17 this year.

Dumesh was the only cadet from the Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh Directorate to participate in this rigorous training programme, which included advanced skills in rock craft, snow craft, ice techniques, glacier movement and high-altitude cooking. She also distinguished herself by completing the mandatory 13-km speed trek carrying 15 kg load well within the stipulated time, displaying exceptional fitness and mental resilience.
