Understanding the missing children epidemic

AS WE CONCLUDE Children Protection Week, allow me to conduct a frightening hypothesis into the ripening underbelly of the missing children crisis in our beloved country.

Statistics from SAPS reveal that 632 children were reported missing in 2024, down from 742 in 2023. Earlier this year, 8743 children were reported missing over the past 10 years. But this could be only the tip of the iceberg.

Missing Children SA estimates that approximately 77% of missing children are found and 23% are never found or found dead.
