INVESTIGATION Huge strides at ABH children’s home after abuse claims

THE Aryan Benevolent Homes (ABH) childrens’ home, which was rocked by allegations of abuse in May lest year, is making huge strides in implementing the recommendations of Department of Social Development (DSD), which conducted the investigation.

In September last year, KwaZulu-Natal social-development MEC, Mbali Shinga released a report with damning findings into the allegations of abuse at the home.

Ray Naguran, chief executive officer for the ABH, said the home, which had 103 children when the allegations surfaced, now had 83 children, who were "healthy, happy and thriving".
