Union says consultation on cuts drawing to a close

It is feared Perth jobs will be lost as city-based energy giant SSE pushes ahead with plans which could see hundreds of jobs cut.

Unite the Union said over 300 SSE jobs across Britain and Ireland were at risk with 150 in SSE Renewables-based at the firm's Dunkeld Road site.

This comes despite SSE - headquartered in Perth - recording an adjusted operating profit of over £2.4 billion for 2024/25.

Redundancy consultations are now drawing to a close but a Unite national officer said more had to be done.
