Teachers, community leaders and non-profit organisations were recognised for their contributions to the community during the Ward 65 Hero Awards ceremony held at the De Wet Road Multi-purpose Hall in Ottery on Friday 25 April.

The awards were founded by ward councillor Donovan Nelson in 2022 to recognise individuals and organisations that go the extra mile in their service to residents of Lotus River, Grassy Park and Parkwood.
