Wonderful windows open to the public

Historic stained glass windows discovered during the recent refurbishment of Holy Trinity and St Barnabas Scottish Episcopal Church in Paisley are set to be exhibited to the public for the first time.

The church, located on St James’ Place, underwent a significant restoration last year, during which the remarkable windows were found to be of historical significance.

The three light-stained glass windows, situated at the east end of the church, have been cleaned and subsequently confirmed as creations of a distinguished glass studio based in Newcastle-upon-Tyne.

Wailes and Strang, prominent Victorian-era stained glass designers, produced works found across England, including notable installations at Gloucester Cathedral.

The Paisley windows are believed to represent one of only three known examples of the studio's craftsmanship and will be on display as part of the Doors Open festival this weekend.
