Tough end of year for Clan after double defeat

Glasgow Clan fell to two Elite League defeats in their end-of-year doubleheader against the Belfast Giants.

A 4-3 loss after overtime in Belfast was followed by a narrow 2-1 reverse at the Braehead Arena to round off 2025.

Giants edged the first clash in Northern Ireland after the sides were locked at 3-3 at the end of regulation time.

Ryan Smith opened the scoring after getting on the end of two shots saved by Clan’s Lucas Brine in the first period. With the home side starting to lose momentum in the second period, Clan’s pressure paid off as Colton Poolman generated space from the point and slapped a powerful shot, which was heading wide, into the danger area.
