Stephen Robinson says the first meeting with any player before they sign tells him everything he needs to know about what he is bringing to St Mirren.

Before kit is collected, calls made or even discussions regarding contracts, the Buddies boss has already sussed out if he will give it his all.

By sitting down and looking players in the eye, Robbo says frank discussions around why a player is on the move gets the foundations of a relationship in place.

Whether it is a bad run of form, wrong club or injuries which have hampered them, the straight-talking gaffer makes sure every player knows they are being given a chance to perform should they choose to sign on the dotted line.
