St Mirren on wrong side of narrow margins aftertough start to season

Kate Cooper insists St Mirren Women will overcome a challenging start to the season and hit new heights.

- COLIN PATERSON

The Buddies are still looking for their first Barclays League One victory of the campaign.

There was frustration last Sunday as they were beaten 1-0 by Glenrothes Strollers at Mossedge Village.

It was a defeat which followed on from three draws to open the season against Dunipace, Edinburgh Caledonia and Elgin City.

Going into this weekend's break, Saints sit in 10th place with three points from four games.

Queen of the South are the early-season pacesetters and are a point clear of Inverurie Loco Works at the summit.

This week's work has consisted of analysis and learning with Buddies head coach Cooper remaining confident in the squad’s ability to get off the winning mark.

“We were disappointed with the result and felt that we didn’t apply ourselves as much as we wanted to,” she told Express Sport.
