Reduced funding for Scotland

Spending reviews are hardly the most exciting of political events, they don't have the impact of an election or even a budget but even those can be quite dry.

The impact and importance of a spending review can be very important though, outlining the spending the government plans in each of the areas it is responsible for, how much goes into each area and for how long.

It also shows how much money will be sent back to Scotland to spend.

So, it is quite important in order for the Scottish Government to know these figures in order to plan it's own spending and priorities.

It helps provide certainty for all the spending areas that Scottish Government is responsible for.

That is the right way to go about things, ensuring those responsible for budgets are fully informed to make their yearly budget decisions.

Panicked U-turns do not help.

When a government removes Winter Fuel Allowance, this affects us here in Scotland.
