Police warn of newjobs scam

Jobseekers are the latest people to be targeted by fraudsters, Renfrewshire police chiefs have warned.

The sophisticated scams start with fake job adverts which are used to reel people in and obtain their personal information.

With people often required to hand over their address and personal details when taking on a new job, victims are often not aware the role doesn’t exist until days or weeks later.
