Annual event celebrates the town's success on the global music scene
Paisley’s remarkable musical story - featuring chart-toppers, cult heroes and rioters - will be showcased this weekend as part the annual book festival.
The Paisley Music Trail: Paolo, Punk and the Poet Weaver will show how the town has always punched above its weight musically, influencing the lives of performers and fans alike.
The Paisley Book Festival event will reveal how the town-renowned as the home of superstar singer Paolo Nutini and Baker Street legend Gerry Rafferty - was once at the heart of Scotland's punk scene and witnessed the country's first rock 'n' roll riot.
That history, together with Paisley's vibrant venues and musically-inspired public art, will form part of the trail which will also pay homage to Paisley's poet weaver, Robert Tannahill.
Their stories will be woven into The Lives We Live theme of the festival, which runs from Friday until Sunday.
