A Paisley man has been charged in connection with alleged drugs offences after police found more than 11.5kg of what they believe to be cocaine following a traffic stop.
Remanded Mark McAvoy will appear before Carlisle Crown Court later this month
Police in Cumbria made the discovery after stopping a Vauxhall Insignia on the M6 travelling on Hogmanay.
Following a search of the vehicle, officers found a cardboard box in the boot which they say contained 10 wrapped 'bricks' weighing more than 11kg.
A further two bags of white powder were also found and Cumbria Constabulary have said the bricks and bags allegedly contained cocaine.
A brown powder was also found in the car which prosecutors allege to be heroin.
