New generation of Paisley cadets

As Westminster returns after the summer break, the last few weeks are as busy as they were before we broke up.

I want to highlight some of the work we've been doing over the last few weeks to deliver for the people of Britain.

Our community is steeped in the tradition of public service. Our cadet force, and the thousands of adult volunteers who keep it going, play a vital role in providing young people with the opportunity to learn new skills, alongside showcasing the value of serving our country and giving back to our communities.

They prove that we can achieve more by working together. This is a core Labour value and a core British value.

This principle is at the heart of our recently announced 30 by 30 plan - this Labour government's plan to expand cadet opportunities for a new generation of young people, boosting cadet forces by 30 per cent by 2030, is supported by £70 million of new investment.
