Buddies are being encouraged to stay safe in the sun as warm weather is expected this weekend.

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) has issued the warning as medics reveal the most common health conditions during nice weather can include sunburn, food poisoning, bites or stings.

In a bid to help people keep away from hospital as temperatures soar to an expected 28 degrees, the health board is dishing out helpful hints and tips ahead of the weekend.

It is urging all those hosting a barbecue to avoid food poisoning by ensuring food is cooked thoroughly and hygienically.
