Ferguslie take the bragging rights in Paisley derby clash

Ferguslie Cricket Club hosted the much-awaited Paisley derby clash with Kelburne on Saturday - and the larger-than-usual crowd wasn’t disappointed.

This was a Western Premiership One match which had both teams on top at different times but it was Ferguslie who prevailed by 86 runs.

Among the entertaining highlights were three half-centuries, a five-wickethaul and some wonderful catching - in particular, a diving effort from 14-year-old Ferguslie debutant Satvik Varunkumar on the boundary, and a scoop by Adam Tahir.

The hosts batted first and were in trouble early on as three batsmen were already back in the dressing room with the score only on 28.

Further wickets lost had the tally on 66/5 when Saif Sajjad (38) and Adam (67) came together with their side in desperate trouble.

Butwith careful batting, they pulled it out of the fire with an impressive stand of 75 which took the score to 141.
