The final push for points has started as Beat the Street Renfrewshire, the giant active travel game taking place across Bridge of Weir, Elderslie, Houston, Howwood, Kilbarchan, Linwood, Johnstone, and Lochwinnoch, draws to a close.

- EMYLIE HOWIE

Since the game launched on September 10, thousands of participants have been racking up points by walking, cycling, wheeling, running and scooting between checkpoints known as Beat Boxes, while discovering more of their local neighbourhoods and connecting with their communities in fun and active ways.

From now until the end of the game on Wednesday, October 22, is the game’s ‘Go Celebrate’ week where every Beat Box in the game will be giving out double points.

At 7pm on the last day, the leaderboards will be taken down and the winners announced shortly after the competition ends.

More than 6,500 people are taking part, collectively travelling more than 55,000 miles throughout the competition so far.
