Representing your country at any level is still the biggest honour a player can have in their career.

That's the message from St Mirren wing-back Declan John who is eyeing up a return to the Welsh international setup.

And the 30-year-old is keen to follow in the footsteps of Alex Gogic, Killian Phillips and Jonah Ayunga, who are involved with Cyprus, Republic of Ireland and Kenya, respectively.

The last time John was involved in a squad was when Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs called him up in 2019. His final appearance came against Trinidad and Tobago in a friendly.

But he hopes that, by the time his career comes to an end, he will have racked up a few more appearances for the Dragons.
