Blair Rossiter was the hat-trick hero as Johnstone Burgh marched into the fourth round of the West of Scotland League Cup at rain-lashed Ravenscraig.

Murdo MacKinnon’s men proved too much for Second Division Greenock on Friday night, although the conditions were testing for both teams.

In the end, the Premier Division outfit won well as they move into the second half of the season with confidence.

Aidan Gilmartin and Aaron Mason both went close for Burgh who took the lead after just five minutes.

Kian Gilday sent in a cross from the left and, while Lewis King's initial header was blocked, the Burgh ace fired home the rebound from close range.
