'Lifer' for stray dogs if they bite humans twice

In a first-of-its-kind move, the Uttar Pradesh government has ordered ‘life imprisonment’ for stray dogs that bite people more than once.
A dog that bites without provocation will be confined to an Animal Birth Control centre for 10 days. The same dog will spend the rest of its life at the centre if repeats the offence. An individual may adopt the dog after submitting an affidavit pledging it will never be released back on the streets.
