BMC launches scrapping of old vehicles

In a bid to streamline operations and boost environmental sustainability, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has launched a rational disposal process for its old and dilapidated vehicles.

A total of 28 vehicles—including TATA tippers, excavators, loaders, ambulances, and tractors—have been identified for disposal.

According to sources, the vehicles have either completed over 15 years since registration or covered more than 2,50,000 kilometers, making them non-roadworthy. The BMC has selected them for scrapping in accordance with government norms.
