'Winner' Scott has reward of long deal with the Magpies

MARTIN Paterson says Scott Robertson is a “winner” and highlighted his potential as a player after Notts County confirmed the Scotsman’s new contract.

He has signed a new three-and-a-half-year deal with the Magpies, a significant commitment from both parties to the future, as they have recognised the midfielder’s importance to the team since his arrival in January 2024.

The length of the contract is not something often seen at League Two level, which shows the club’s faith in the 24-year old’s ability and how much he has impressed head coach Paterson since returning from injury.

Having been eased back into the team in the early weeks of the campaign, Robertson has been ever-present in central midfield over the last two months and his new boss caught onto his qualities straight away.
