Why we prayed for God to bless our great city

But of course, there always is - Nottingham is a busy and vibrant city, and I am privileged as a workplace chaplain to spend much of my time in its centre. Visiting businesses and organisations, talking to the people who make it not just tick along, but endeavour to make it burst with vitality.

I sometimes wish that more of the city could be like Hockley, a little town within a town, friendly and quirky - full of interesting things to see and eat, and full of interesting people to talk to too!

Or like the site of the glorious new library, bordered by flowers and water with places to sit and chat and dream, an oasis of nature amid buildings of concrete and brick.
