JOB DONE FOR DEFENDER, EVEN IF HE TOOK NO JOY AGAINST FORMER CLUB

Tsaroulla: Nice to reminisce, but to Nick a win was important for Magpies

Memories came flooding back as Nick Tsaroulla returned to his old club, Crawley Town, for Notts' victory at the weekend PICTURE: SHUTTERSTOCK

(SHUTTERSTOCK)

NOTTS County wing-back Nick Tsaroulla took no added joy in beating his former club, Crawley Town, at the weekend, but was delighted to repay the support of his current one.

After four games without a win, the Magpies were pleased to get through what head coach Martin Paterson viewed as a very tough challenge away at a much-changed Crawley team following a wave of January signings.

Notts have made a couple of their own in this window so far, with local lad James Belshaw coming straight in between the sticks for his debut, but he was denied a clean sheet in his first game at the death.

Still, County held on for the three points despite that late scare to move back into the playoff places in League Two, with Tsaroulla crediting moments of individual quality from his teammates for the victory.
