Tribute to 'a wonderful man' as councillor dies

MUCH-LOVED LOCAL AUTHORITY COLLEAGUE WAS ALSO A TEACHER

BROXTOWE councillors have paid tribute to a “caring and passionate” colleague who died last week.

Broxtowe borough councillor Ross Bofinger (Brox Alliance), who represented Stapleford South East, is remembered as a “wonderful man’.

Cllr Bofinger was elected to the authority in 2023 and also sat on Stapleford Town Council - but being a councillor was not his only legacy. He had a long career as a teacher, and after shaping the lives of “countless” young people, was due to retire this summer, according to fellow Broxtowe Alliance borough councillor Sue Paterson.

Cllr Paterson, also a Stapleford town councillor, said: “He was an absolutely wonderful man. Everywhere he went he touched the hearts of people.
