Tesco shopper's car is 'trashed' by cladding collapse

TESCO has apologised to a customer whose car was written off when part of a supermarket crashed down onto it.

Nick Swithinbank from Daybrook was stunned when he returned to his Ford people carrier, which he had parked in the Bulwell store's undercroft car park on Wednesday, September 17.

The 63-year-old found a large chunk of broken of cladding next to his battered 2009 S-Max.

"It was really quite shocking," Mr Swithinbank. "I parked my car there and then went off to the library to do something, but when I came back to my car to get my bags and go into Tesco, a panel had fallen and smashed the back of my car."
