They were competing at the top end of the Premier League table and had Champions League football in their sights. Back then, Nuno Espirito Santo was the man in charge of a tight-knit dressing room and the Reds were flying.

But they could have done with another striker. Up front was arguably the one area of the pitch in need of strengthening as Forest faced the second half of the 2024-25 season.

A bid for Yoane Wissa was rejected by Brentford and, in the end, the January 2025 window passed without any significant additions being made. There was reasoning behind that strategy but it left a big "what if" come the end of the campaign.
