Shop thief took chocs and sweets worth £1,300

A NOTTINGHAM man stole nearly £1,300-worth of chocolates and sweets from city shops.

Simon Spencer, 50, targeted four shops and, on each occasion, emptied shelves full of sweet treats into a bag he was carrying before leaving the premises without paying.
The thefts took place from February to April, with some shops targeted more than once.
The first thefts took place on February 22, when he made two trips a couple of hours apart to a Heron Foods branch on Highbury Road, Bulwell.
On March 23, April 7 and April 10, he targeted the Sainsbury's shop on Ransom Road, St Ann's.
He then moved on to the Sainsbury's shop on Plains Road, Woodthorpe, on April 13.
