BOTAFOGO CENTRE-BACK REPORTEDLY FOLLOWING TEAM-MATE JESUS TO CITY GROUND, BUT FOREST WILL HAVE TO SHOW 'PATIENCE'

- By SARAH CLAPSON

NOTTINGHAM Forest could be set to add two signings from Brazilian club Botafogo to their ranks this summer.

Striker Igor Jesus is said to have already undergone a medical ahead of linking up with Nuno Espirito Santo's side in the next few weeks.

The 24-year-old is having a short break following his participation in the Club World Cup before heading to the UK to complete his expected switch.

And it appears Botafogo teammate Jair will also be on the way to the City Ground after doubts had emerged over the deal going ahead.

With those now said to be in the past, Reds writer Sarah Clapson takes a look at the deal state of play and just what we know about the defender...

Who is Jair?

The 20-year-old centre-back has only been with Botafogo since February. He signed a four-year contract with the Brazilian side earlier this year after coming up through the ranks at Santos.

Since then, he has been a regular in the first XI for Botafogo, racking up 12 league starts for the club.

He also put in some impressive performances at the Club World Cup, scoring against Seattle Sounders and helping shut out Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain for a 1-0 win.
