Raging young dad threatened ex with knife as she cradled their baby

A RAGE-FILLED, masked young father threatened the terrified mother of his children with a 12-inch kitchen knife as she held their ninemonth-old baby.

Nottingham Crown Court was told how Jermone Gibson forced his way into the bedroom of the address after finding out his ex-partner was seeing a new man.

The 22-year-old dad-of-two then jabbed the blade towards the babyclutching victim and the man, leaving her feeling she was genuinely going to be killed.

Then, while on bail, the defendant broke the arm of a police officer trying to stop him fleeing the scene of a suspected crime.

Jailing Gibson for a total of three years and eight months, Recorder Sacha Ackland said: "I have read her victim impact statement in which she says you were wearing a balaclava and were in such a rage that she believed you had a serious intent to end her life.
