QMC nurse is accused of stealing thousands from dementia patient

A NOTTINGHAM nurse stole a bank card from an elderly dementia-suffering patient who was in his care and used it to withdraw almost £6,500 from her account, a trial has heard.

A jury was told how Rexy Reyes took the card from the purse of the victim, who was in her late 70s, after she was admitted to ward B47 at the Queen's Medical Centre where he worked. The prosecution says the 52-year-old then used it on 22 consecutive days at an ATM which was at the hospital but not covered by any cameras.

The defendant, of Broxtowe Lane, Aspley, is on trial at Nottingham Crown Court for two counts of theft. He denies the charges.
