PRIVATE MATTER DELAYED STAR'S FLIGHT TO PORTUGAL

MORGAN Gibbs-White has now joined his Nottingham Forest teammates on their preseason training camp in Portugal.

The England international, who is wanted by Tottenham Hotspur, did not travel with Nuno Espirito Santo's squad when they made the trip on Monday. His absence was due to a private matter, not anything transfer related.

Gibbs-White flew out on Wednesday night to join up with the Reds. The club are scheduled to remain in Portugal until next Wednesday.

Gibbs-White has been the subject of much transfer talk this summer. He remains a target for Spurs, despite a proposed move to the capital breaking down earlier this month.

The north London side triggered a £60m release clause in the 25-yearold's contract but Forest were unhappy with what they regarded as an illegal approach for their star man.

There has been talk Tottenham could return with a £65m offer but reports have suggested the Reds would prefer to sell to another club if they are to let their prized asset go.

Amid the rumours about his future, Gibbs-White played his first minutes of preseason for Forest last Saturday. He missed the club's first friendly of the summer due to being permitted additional time off following his international commitments but was in the starting XI for the 0-0 draw with Monaco at Chesterfield's SMH Group Stadium.
