Precarious position Reds need to avoid finding themselves in this summer
Nottingham Post
|June 06, 2025
IT is a crucial summer for Nottingham Forest as they prepare for their return to the European stage.
The Reds know they need to get their transfer business right in order to kick on again when the 2025/26 season rolls around.
Solid foundations are in place to build upon courtesy of a seventh-placed finish and qualification for the Conference League, but owner Evangelos Marinakis is a man rarely content with standing still.
The Greek businessman will no doubt be keen for Forest to take further strides over the next 12 months. With that in mind, below, we take a look at the key transfer issues facing the Reds this summer.
CONTRACT DECISIONS
Speculation about the future of Callum Hudson-Odoi highlights a particularly pressing problem for Forest.
The Reds winger and Neco Williams both have just 12 months remaining on their contracts, and that puts the club in something of a precarious position.
Napoli are seemingly ready to take advantage of that where Hudson-Odoi is concerned. A report from Italy has claimed a £12 million bid is being readied.
