Objection to plans for 84 homes on former allotments

A NEW housing estate of 84 homes could soon be built on unused former allotments - but a resident has warned that the plans would destroy a wildlife habitat.

A planning application has been received by Ashfield District Council from Bellway Homes for a residential development on land at Abbey Field Allotments in Hucknall.
The 84 homes will range between one and four bedrooms and will be accompanied by 165 parking spaces. Almost a fifth of the homes will be affordable, according to the proposals.
