Notts need home comfort against Shrews to get season going

BOTH Notts County and Shrewsbury Town will be gunning for their first wins of the League Two campaign at Meadow Lane tonight (7.45pm).

The Magpies have picked up only one point from their first three League outings, which is matched by tonight's opponents, who have started slowly after coming down from League One.

Magpies head coach Martin Paterson is under early pressure to get things moving at Notts, as is Michael Appleton at Shrewsbury, knowing that double relegations have been a theme in recent seasons for teams coming down from the third tier.

Salop have won only once in the last 21 games stretching back to last season and Appleton admitted there might be some "baggage" to deal with for those that have remained in his squad from last term.
