Norburn: Closeness of group is reflected in Magpies' results

UNITY HELPING US PUSH FOR TOP SPOT, SAYS MIDFIELDER
VETERAN midfielder Oliver Norburn spoke about the unity within the Notts County squad, as their positive form continues despite tough challenges.
The Magpies are getting ready for the league leaders, Walsall, at Meadow Lane in their last match before Christmas, a match they go into in hot form as the Saddlers' closest pursuers in the League Two table.
There was plenty of change at Notts over the summer in terms of playing and coaching personnel. However, with time, everyone has got to know each other better, and now that a level of understanding is in place, the team's true potential is becoming clearer.
From a player's perspective, it is a good place to be at the moment, but the more experienced squad members will want to make sure no complacency creeps in at this stage.
"I think there is a real unity in the squad," professed Norburn. "It differs in terms of experience and age, but as the season has progressed, we've been brought closer together, the staff included in that.
