N-ICE to taste you! Ice cream to help older patients

PATIENTS at Nottingham hospitals will be able to enjoy a new high-protein ice cream designed to help tackle malnutrition.

The dessert NICE Cream has been made available to older patients this summer after a successful trial.

Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUH), which runs the Queen's Medical Centre and City Hospital, said hundreds will benefit from the ice cream.

Professor Opinder Sahota, the consultant in orthogeriatric medicine behind the project, said the ice cream had been developed to "address the serious problem of malnutrition and muscle weakness among older people".
