New cancer centre is open for town

A PIONEERING Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Centre has opened in Newark.

The service at the YMCA Community and Activity Village on Lord Hawke Way has started welcoming users.

Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which manages Newark Hospital along with King's Mill and Mansfield Community hospitals, is working in partnership with Macmillan to provide the service.

An extension of the service at King's Mill, the centre is the first of its kind nationally.
