Man was left fighting for his life after being stabbed seven times, trial is told

A MAN in his 40s was left fighting for his life after being stabbed four times to the neck in a street attack, a trial heard.

David Bonser suffered lifethreatening injuries after being attacked by James Pedley, the prosecution claims.

CCTV footage of the assault showed the pair exchanging blows, following which the 40-year-old accused is seen to walk away from the scene seemingly folding an item up, placing it into a pocket and putting up the hood of his bloodstained jacket.

Gruesome body-worn footage then showed the victim lying covered in blood.

After the incident, in Sutton-inAshfield, Pedley went to a friend's house where he was arrested when found hiding in a loft after armed police surrounded it, footage showed.

And the victim had to be taken to the Queen's Medical Centre for emergency treatment having also suffered a fractured jaw and spine, the Crown says.

Pedley, 40, of Elder Street in Sutton-in-Ashfield, is on trial at Nottingham Crown Court for attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon. He denies the charges.
