Man pleads guilty to stabbing victim in street in broad daylight

A KNIFEMAN has admitted stabbing a victim in the street in Ilkeston in broad daylight.

Jason Thomas pleaded guilty to assault occasioning grievous bodily harm and possession of a knife when he appeared at Nottingham Crown Court over a video link from HMP Nottingham.

The 46-year-old, who is from the town, used the blade on the man on the morning of August 15 this year.

Officers were called to reports of an altercation between two men in Wilton Place just before 11.30am.

The victim, in his 50s, sustained an injury to his arm and was taken to hospital for treatment.
