Man deliberately stabbed himself in leg 'to get out of drug debt situation'

A NOTTINGHAM father deliberately stabbed himself in the leg in Nottingham city centre "to get out of a situation".

Nottingham Crown Court heard how Jordan Lathwood injured himself because he claimed a man chasing a drugs debt was following him and his partner.

The aspiring soldier, of West Bridgford, ended up giving himself a deep wound to his right thigh and was hospitalised. But his dream of joining the Army might still be intact as he was spared an immediate prison term for having the blade in public.
